Why Maths Specifically

Maths does not go wrong suddenly. It compounds.

Every maths topic is built on the one before it. A child who never quite settled place value in Standard 2 will struggle with fractions in Standard 4, then with algebra in Form 1, and it will look like they are “not a maths person”. They usually are. They just have a gap two years further back.

We find the actual gap

Before we teach anything new, we work out where the foundation broke. That is often two or three years earlier than the topic they are failing.

Then we close it properly

Not a quick patch before the test. We rebuild the step that was missed, then move forward, so the next topic lands on solid ground.

And we keep them working

Maths rewards practice more than any other subject. Small classes mean the teacher sees every worked line, not just the final answer.

Every Maths Syllabus

National and Cambridge maths, under one roof

Your child is taught the maths their own school teaches, then taken one step deeper so the exam feels easy.

Primary Maths, Standard 1 to 6

KSSR-aligned maths with UASA and PBS preparation. Number sense, operations, fractions, measurement, problem sums.

Cambridge Primary Maths

For international school children, including Checkpoint preparation. Taught the Cambridge way, with Cambridge language.

Form 1 to 3 Maths and PT3

Algebra, indices, linear equations, geometry and the transition into abstract reasoning that catches most children out.

SPM Maths and Add Maths

Form 4 and 5. Full syllabus coverage, past year papers, and the exam technique that turns understanding into marks.

IGCSE Maths, Core and Extended

Year 10 and 11 Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics, taught by teachers who know the papers and the grade thresholds.

IGCSE Additional Maths

The step up that decides A-Level options. Calculus, trigonometry, functions and the pace it is really taught at.

How We Teach It

Six to eight children. Every worked line seen.

Small groups

Classes of six to eight. The teacher watches how your child works, not just whether the answer is right. One-to-one is available for focused catch-up.

Teachers with 30+ years

The same teachers, year after year. Many of our students stay with us from primary maths all the way through to IGCSE or SPM.

Past papers, properly used

For PT3, SPM and IGCSE we work through real past papers under real conditions, then go back over every lost mark.

Homework that is checked

Set, marked and discussed. Maths improves through repetition, and repetition only helps if the mistakes get caught.

Confidence, not just marks

Most children who “hate maths” have simply lost confidence. That comes back faster than parents expect once the gap is closed.

A Parent’s Words

“In 11 months, her English improved dramatically”

★★★★★

“My daughter joined the English class in Grade 3 at a Chinese school, before moving to an international school. In just 11 months, my daughter’s English improved dramatically, making her transition incredibly smooth and confident. Beyond teaching English, she was supported emotionally, building her confidence and helping her feel secure in her learning. Strongly recommended!”

★★★★★

“My daughter started tuition just a few months ago at Epic Smart. Within a couple of months I have seen good discipline in her, and she just received her final exam results with tremendous progress. I am definitely very happy. Epic is very committed. Finally, I’ve found a good centre.”

Maths Questions

What parents ask us about maths

Which maths syllabi do you teach?
KSSR and UASA for national school, Cambridge Primary and Checkpoint for international school, Form 1 to 3 and PT3, SPM Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, and Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics Core and Extended plus Additional Mathematics.
My child says they are just bad at maths. Is that true?
Almost never. In our experience it is a gap further back that was never closed, and the child has decided the subject is not for them. A trial class will usually show you exactly where the gap is.
Do you teach Additional Maths?
Yes, both SPM Add Maths and Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics. It is the subject parents most often come to us for, and the one where pace catches children out.
How big are the maths classes?
Six to eight students. Small enough that the teacher can see how each child is working, not only what they wrote at the end. One-to-one is available.
How much does maths tuition cost?
It depends on the year group and whether you add other subjects. Message us on WhatsApp with your child's year and school and you will have the fees and the timetable the same day.
Can my child join mid-term?
Yes. We will place them by what they actually know rather than by the date. The trial class tells us where to start.
Where are you and when are you open?
94, Jalan Terasek 2, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur. Monday to Friday 10am to 10pm, Saturday 10am to 6pm. Closed Sunday.
